yo people..
there is no place better than st.james's street in port of spain for party/music lovers.
just the ambiance of the place, socca music all around you, engulfing you.. just an unbelievable experience for me this weekend.
Being a music lover myself, we left for this exotic expedition at around 7 PM local time today (friday evening). It was my first visit to this to this place, its just some 10-15 minutes walk from the place we stay. my first imagination being, similar to our MG road/ brigade road, it was just proven wrong the moment i stepped into that street.
This street is just a KM away from queens park oval cricket stadium. we thought of getting into the stadium where brian lara played his intial part of his cricket life. we were just given red signal by the security officials outside the gate. anyway, our main moto has been visiting st.jame's street at night time. we anyway succeeded in that.
From the moment i saw glimpses of the street, i was bewildered. Awesome chicks, awesome pubs, awesome music, everything was just perfect for a person like me.
we went into a local bar, ordered for a beer. after finishing(it was done by split second) that we thought of visiting rest of the street. All of a sudden, my sight fell on a place, where they were cooking grilled chicken. we just barged in, ordered for a complete chicken, that too was finished in a hurry(we were hungry).
After replenishing our energy, we sought out on a journey of a lifetime. we vistited few more pubs, every bar we visited, we ordered a beer (a beer in every pun, isnt it fantastic!!??).
People are so crazy there, they enjoy every bit of music. they drink as much they can, never worried about what will happen to them after all that liquid food :P. Even we were in the mood of drinking, my roomie kept ordering soft drinks, me hard drinks (beer) :P.
We asked locals about the drinks they were having, they guided us in reaching heaven soon. we had fernandis rum, supposed to be the purest form of rum all over the world (on the rocks). we continued our journet towards destiny after that. finally we came to a stand still, when ,y purse balance was just 7 $ (including all the change). we thought of begging local people here for few more dollars as one beer costs 9 $ here. I guess we were not as lucky as we started, could not find other 2$. Still we didnt lose hope, we kept pn asking every pub on the way " do we get anything for 7$" and the response was negative.
Finally we landed in our house at around 11, then i started writing this blog.
Forgive for me any fault in this, could not help writing this in some alcoholic effect. Thanks if you have already read this and enjoyed every moment of this.
Socca music rocks.... :)
